A ‘roaring’ Success for Dino Day

After the success in Grantham of ‘Youth Fest’ undertaken for South Kesteven District Council in March, which saw youngsters enjoy a temporary skateboard park, try their efforts on the graffiti wall and a circus workshop in the town centre, it was Worksop’s turn with a brand new ‘Dinosaur Day’ organised for North Notts BID.

NNBID decided to go back in time and bring the Jurassic era back to town with a fun family day of activities which included live musical performances, fire shows and the chance for budding palaeontologists to discovering dino bones within the ‘dino dig’ activities. However, visitors flocked mainly to see the playful dinosaurs in action, including ‘tiny’ the triceratops and his friends. Children and adults alike were wowed by the playful creatures who had definitely been trained not to eat visitors but hadn’t been house trained! Cue lots of dinosaur poop which of course needed clearing up by volunteers from the audience!

No children were eaten during the performance!

‘that girl’ has been delighted to be involved in the organisation of these events and is looking forward to this summer with North Notts Food Festival and Party in the Square already on the horizon.
