As restrictions were lifted, but not quite completely, the second North Notts Food Fest took place in Worksop on 3rd July. Despite the weather not being too kind, it was better than forecasted and with the presence of the wonderful Jean-Christophe Novelli, turned into a great day for visitors and traders alike.

‘that girl’ organises the event on behalf of North Notts BID to encourage visitors into the town centre, promote local food suppliers and highlight the BID’s objective of North Notts being a great place to live, work and visit. The Carroll Brother’s fish and chip van made a re-appearance in Worksop where it provoked wonderful memories for many people. The Pump House museum at Leicester kindly brought the van back to its original home where it once again served chips cooked in the coal fired range on board.

Over 30 stall holders serving street food, selling artisan provisions and drinks joined with street entertainers, children’s activities, Punch & Judy and chefs who undertook demonstrations in the main marquee. The rain didn’t put visitors off as they enjoyed the buzz of the street market and free samples from Morrisons and Premier Foods – who produce every oxo cube in the world!
