Brilliant Boots and Beret Awards

For the third year, ‘that girl’ was delighted to assist Nottinghamshire County Council with its Boots and Beret awards which culminated in a glittering evening at Crowne Plaza hotel, Nottingham on 11th September.

The awards celebrate the dedication, commitment and service within Nottinghamshire’s armed forces community and the important role veterans play within business. With over 260 guests kitted out in their glamourous best, the Nottinghamshire Military Wives Choir serenaded guests before the delicious three course dinner was served. Once the loyal toast had been raised, a second performance from the ladies of the choir preceded the awards themselves.

Eight categories made up the evening with finalists from each eagerly awaiting the announcement of who would receive each award. Huge congratulations to all those who were nominated and who were finalists. The awards went to:
Reservist Award sponsored by Heckler-Koch – Anita Jackson
Health & Wellbeing Awards sponsored by Ideagen – Nottinghamshire Veteran Covenant Healthcare Alliance
Cadet Force Adult Volunteer sponsored by NCC Business Support Service – Rachel Needham
Employer Award sponsored by Anderson Green – West Nottinghamshire College
Employee Awards sponsored by Gleeds – Krystyna Robinson
Projects and Events sponsored by Pick Everard – Worksop RBL Volunteer Group
Community Award sponsored by Motorfinity – Forces in the Community
Special Award – Nicky Weston for her dedication to the Nottinghamshire Army Cadet Force.

Special thanks must also go to the event sponsors who made the evening possible and the great pictures supplied by photographer Tracey Whitefoot. Neil Bettison of NCC is the force behind these awards and ‘that girl’ was only too happy to be his right hand person – here’s to next year’s awards!

Enjoying the evening with my good friend Steve
