The first Boots and Berets awards ceremony went off without a hitch this year with compere, Mark Dennison, keeping things moving and the audience entertained. Guests were treated to a delicious three course meal at Nottingham Forest Football Club prior to the awards being presented. The brainchild of Neil Bettison from Nottinghamshire County Council and sponsored by VIA, Scape Partnership and ARC, the awards have now secured sponsorship for a further two years so ‘that girl’ is looking forward to being part of the organising team once again.
Winners of the categories were:
Employee Forces Hero Award – Gillian Welch of Ashfield District Council
Employer Forces Hero Award – Joint winners – Newark & Sherwood District Council and Experian
Community Together Award – Nottinghamshire Police
Legacy Award – Tim Richmond DL – Office of the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire
Guest of honour was the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Sir John Peace who himself was presented with a special award along with Cllr. Keith Girling of Nottinghamshire County Council.
