After the strangest few months ever, South Kesteven district council with funding from the Arts Council commissioned a series of events to employ local artists, performers and event organisers to deliver a Covid safe outdoor event when restrictions were lifted enough at the end of May to let small outdoor events go ahead.

‘that girl’ was delighted to deliver the Grantham event which comprised three locations around town – St Peter’s Hill, Wyndham Park and Dysart Park – where small scale outdoor activities and performances could take place. From graffiti art to musical performances, drumming workshops to plaster-cast art, small groups were pre-booked in to ‘have a go’ in covid safe environments. No large crowds, no big audiences just some small first steps back into the world of outdoor events…
The day was blessed with sunny warm weather and, with over 300 interactions with the public over all the locations, the event was deemed to have met its objective of providing a safe environment for both the public, local artists and performers to get back to doing what they do best and producing a great outdoor experience.
